Good Breakfast Bar?

Hello, Can anyone suggest a good Breakfast bar, there are so many out there now and I really want to try them but I`m scared if my blood sugar`s go way up? Trader Joes has quite a few I`m not sure how much saturated fat I can have in a day? I still prick my finger 2 or 3 times a day and no medication as of yet. I have to go back in 3 months to see how I`m doing. Thanks for listening

As far as the TJ's bars go, I have a tendency to hang with the Zone bars because of the high protein content in them.

Don't like Atkins' diet, and believe it's very dangerous. Anyway, found Morning Start Trail Mix bars which fit into my crazy schedule. Sometimes I have to return to bed (if I've had a painful, sleepless night) after giving my two diabetic cats their food and insulin. I drink a glass of milk and have a bar which adds up to approximately 2 diabetic exchanges for me. That's 15 carbs per exchange (actual carbs...not net). I get 8 a day. I sometimes have a hard time getting all of them in. Have to make sure I eat something when I get up at 4:30AM or so...especially if I go back to bed. Sure don't want to drip down into the 60's while I'm sleeping.
So...here goes:
Morning Start Trail Mix bars (5 bars at around $6)
calories 160
fat calories 60 (o trans fats & 1g saturated - total 7g)
cholesterol 0
sodium 95mg
potassium 100mg
total Carbs 13g
dietary fiber 3g
sugars 1g
protein 12g
There are several different flavors, but only the triple berry and the trail mix peaked my interest. Haven't tried the triple berry yet. Splenda is utilized.
Good luck.

When I mentioned exchanges, I was referring to the number of carbohydrates I'm allowed for a day. The increments are 15 carbohydrates per unit. So, I get 8 units daily which would be a total of 120 carbohydrates that are for the whole day. I try for between 15-30
for breakfast. Then, dinner is usually 24-32. Lunch is usually my high meal. If my BS is low before bed, I eat another 15 approximately and some protein.
In January when I was diagnosed with II, I was pretty rigid about following the plan. I should be doing the same now. However, I've lost the desire to keep track of every
mouthful of food I eat. I keep my BS in control, and try to eat three good meals plus 1 snack, maybe.
The whole idea of diabetes really makes me nervous. I have days when I hate the idea more. I've had times when it's been really low and really high. Both are scarey!!!
www.diabetes.org or www.joslin.com are both good sites for info. If you've forgotten the stuff from your classes, I'd suggest asking if you can sit in to remind you of the high points.
We're all in the same boat or have been or will be again. So, don't be afraid to ask questions. If we don't know, we'll suggest some places to find info. All my good stuff is under another identity. If you want more, let me know and I'll make a list.
Funny, I was so gung-ho initially that I ordered all sorts of stuff (articles, magazines, books, pamphlets, etc), and most of it is sitting on top of my entertainment center. The plan was to make a binder and set up a bookcase. Still plan to do it, but seems other things just keep being more important (ie. I'm sort of remiss/lazy).
