As I previously said in a role call, I am hypoglycemic and found this out about 2 mos ago. I am monitering my blood sugar levels on a regular basis per the drs instructions. I met with the diabetic nurse and she said that it was inevitable that I would end up diabetic so I am trying to do whatever i can to prolong that happening! My question is...what do you all feel normal blood levels are...............Do you check your blood
in the morning when you get up or just after meals and before bed?? Any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance

Hi and welcome to the board. I am one of the community leaders for this board who has been a type 1 for over 29 years and on a insulin pump for over 7 years. I check my blood sugar before meals and at times 2 hours after meals to make sure the amount of insulin I am taking is enough to cover my meals. Most doctors generally say before meals and check on occasions 2 hours after meals to make sure all is going well. Granted some of us might also check when having any signs of symptoms of low or high blood sugars to see if that is the cause of us not feeling well. The best way to
