It has been months since I was here last... with a new pc and cable dsl - I couldn't be happier (with my computer that is!)
As for the diabetes issues....well not is all so well in my house. I am waiting for results on my lipid profile and will see the dr. next week to discuss what to do next. His last directive was to lose 30 lbs. (Yikes!) I have not even lost 1 lb. and know my cholesterol is sky high. Somehow I haven't been able to kick it in gear and get serious about my health - diabetes and now possible heart issues. What is my problem???? I do not eat as I should and don't exercise near enough. I consume alcohol moderately and know that is bad too....ugh!!! I guess I needed to get that off my chest and know I can vent to you guys - no one else seems to know how bad it can be!! So. What keeps you motivated to stay on your program? I'd love some ideas to stay focused! THanks a ton you guys!!
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer.
Do not let anybody tell you that they stay on their program straight through, because we all do cheat from time to time. I think in general it just depends upon a the person in how bad they want to be healthy to get the motivation they need or either that face the complications that go with the disease. If the person wants to be healthy and not live their life with the complications that come with the disease they generally do what they must to get healthy and stay that way. So you need to dig deep down inside of yourself and figure out what will help to keep you motivated such as for every week you stay on top of things treat yourself to something you enjoy or even buy a gift for yourself. This does help to make you feel great in reaching a weeks goal since you get a great treat at the end of the week. If that does not work for you than figure something out that you would, because who else knows what will help keep you motivated than yourself. You can go by the day, week, month, or even year as you make progress little by little just start out small steps at a time though until you get going to the point of not even knowing your doing it.
Many of us have been where you are and have pulled ourselves out of the mess. Just know it took a while for you to become diabetic and it will take you a while to get things set into motion, but do not give up since it
