I bought a pound of macaroni and cheese salad from Wal-Mart and have been trying to figure out how many carbs to a serving of 1 cup. It has mayonaise, celery, red pepper, cheese, and macaroni noodles all in it. I really enjoy this salad to have at lunch or as a snack, but I have yet to come up with the correct amount of carbs for it yet. Do any of you have any ideas how many carbs I should try for a serving to see if that works out better? I miss eating it, but feel I need to stay away from it until I figure it out though and that saddens me since I do enjoy it so very much. I very much appreciate any help you might be able to offer me with this. Take care and do have a wonderful day!

Denise ---

Okay, not sure for exactly what Wal-mart's Mac Salad is, but I have a book that has the average for All outlets Mac Salad and here is what it gives --

Serving Size - 1/2 cup or 4 ounces

Carbs --- 13

Fat -- 13

Calories - 180

I hope this helps some!

Thank you so much. I shall see if that works out for me or not, because I would love to be able to have some of it occasionally. So we shall see what happens with my blood sugars now. So here is to things working out well for me this time around. Take care and do have a wonderful day!

No, I have not thought about making my own like I use to since I am on decreased activity and not able to stand for long periods to chop all the vegetables I would want in it. Only a few more weeks and I will be able to make my own than, which I am looking forward to doing since my family really loves my salad. Oh well, for now I will just have to enjoy the one at Wal-Mart for a while longer.

Thank you though for the great suggestion since it would work out better in the long run especially with my blood sugar. At least I'll

Its very possible if they are using WalMart company recipes for it, or they get it prepacked from some other source...someone SHOULD be able to give you a nutritional breakdown. I would maybe call and ask for the deli manager. Tell her that you are a diabetic so its critical for you to know what the carb amount is and for what size serving. My guess is if she can't at least do that, then maybe she can tell you the ingredients. Then you could probably hunt up a source that could run the ingredients through some data base that could calculate the carbs. My guess is they do have a way of telling you exactly what the carb and other numbers are though.

Thank you for the idea. I shall ask tomorrow to see what I can find out. Great idea, which I wish I had thought of it sooner. Oh well, at least I knew somebody here would give me some great advice in which you did just that and I might know the answer come tomorrow. hehehe I would think they would know what the nutritional break down is in their deli foods, but I might be wrong and will know come tomorrow though. Take care and have a very enjoyable day!
