Some of you may know that I am cl-MaryFrances40 twin sister and also some of you may know that I work as an Infection Control Nurse.....so Mary Frances has asked me to post this message for all of you.
All of us with this disease fall into one of the groups where this vaccine will be allowed, but that does not mean that all of you will be able to get the vaccine. The exact nature of the shortage of vaccine is unknown right now. It does look like there will be 2.2 million doses available with some being held back to address hot spots of disease when and where they occur.
However, there are steps that each of you can take to help prevent this infection.
· Wash hands with soap and warm water often

· Keep your hands away from your eyes, nose, and mouth
· Do not share food, drinks, utensils or towels with others
· Frequently wipe off commonly used household items like telephones and toys
· Keep your body healthy with plenty of rest, healthy foods and drinks and exercise
These are pretty reasonable suggestions and I urge each of you to follow them.
Keep healthy!

Katie;
Every lab has a specific set of "normals" for their lab.
There will probably be no vaccine for me or my DH this year.

Well that certainly was a strange message in your mail.
(ha ha ha ha) glad to be of service!
What kind of exercise do you do/lead?
Yep, in reading some of the resources, obesity is one qualifier (or course, diabetes is another). I'm just a couple of points over in my index to qualify as obese. A loss of about 15# should bring me into the overweight category (oh joy!).
I'm beginning to wonder if I wasn't heading towards diabetes before I was really diagnosed as my alk phos was 140 when I had hysterectomy in 1990.
Oh the joys of "maturing"!
Sure wish I could exercise more. My hip is bothering me today. Cleaned litter boxes last night and with my limp, the weight is a bit much for my diseased (avascular necrosis, supposedly) hip. Am going to call my insurance company again today after my U/S to see if they're going to pay for the Z-Coil shoes. Sure hope they help out as they're expensive.
Not working puts a big burden on my budget...that's for sure!
My best to you.
