As you know 200 and above is way to high. Most doctors in general like to see if any where from 90 to 150 at the highest for type 2's at least that is what I have been told by my doctor. I would call your doctor to let him/her know that you had that high of a blood sugar, because they will be better able to help

Hey Beth,

I just want to say welcome to the board. I just found out June 04 that I was a diabetic type 2.. The day I came out of that doctor's office I realized that I had to change.. I had to change my life the way I ate the way I exercised the way I did everything.. I had to make an effort to change my way of life..Which in the beginning oh it was difficult.. Sometimes STILL HARD TO ACCEPT!! But I know I have to accept this disease it could KILL me.. my mom was a diabetic.. she started of by taking pills and was told you take care of yourself you will be okay.. she did not she NEVER changed her way of eating and not long she was on insulin.. sadly to say I lost my mom to this disease in November 87..so I know what this disease can do so I am getting a grip on it. I have a 13 year old son and he needs his mom around for a long time. So I am proud of you for making a choice as well to get a grip on this disease.. Please know you can come here and someone in this group will respond to you.. I am not on much because I just have alot going on.. and I just do not get the time to get on here and respond the way I would like to.

Numbers between 70-140 or good numbers anything over that is not good. You might consider going back to a diabetic education class. I have lost 51 pounds and have went from a size 30 and pants a size 22 are really getting loose:).. Take care and just know this group is really supportive Please feel free to share encourage, learn.. and ask questions.. I thank God for this group:) This group has kept me sane in the beginning of all this diabetes stuff. bye for now Melody
