I have read your thread regarding your daughter and can empathize with you! In my experience, I have brought my blood sugar readings over a period of time to the doctor (even faxed when I didn't have an appointment - just for his feedback) and I was diagnosed type II from 3 random readings over 200. My fasting is usually great, it's when I eat anything at all it seems to go haywire! A fasting of 128 is a bit high to me but you can look at the josten diabetic center and they can give the latest guidelines. Good luck to you and I hope your daughter is feeling well very soon!

Take care!

Jennifer thank you for getting back to me, my daughter seems to be the same as you, as soon as she eats anything her sugar goes haywaire also. We try to eat healthy as well as my husband is diabetic and i have hypoglycemia so we dont really have to many sweet things around the house. Im fill so bad for her as she keeps getting up at night to drink on and off.

My mom also thinks this may be a sign but im not to sure, in the last year and a half my daughter has gone from having 100% great eye sight to having to wear glasses 24/7. IF she is diabetic can that be why , i knew over time it can affect your eyes but not that quick.

Julie,

Its all the carbohydrates that she is eating, not just sweet things, that is causing her blood sugar to go up. You need to be measuring the amount of carbos that she is eating. If you have a good diabetic cook book it will tell you how many carbs are in a serving a huge variety of foods. I can't offer you specific suggestions without knowing how many carbs she is supposed to be eating. They will give you that information when you have the dietitian appointment.

It is hard to tell if diabetes is effecting her eye sight. If you know why she was put in glasses perhaps I can explain. Eyes aren't my big suit!!

I hope things start to settle out for you real soon and I am anxiously waiting for the results of your new doctor's exam.
