and my ACI test (i think that is what that test is called) anyways my test came back that I was 9.7, and he put me on glucovan 2 times a day, I have been taking them now for a week, and now my vision is screwed up, its even hard reading and typing this message!!! Will it get any better as my sugar gets adjusted? It is driving me crazy because i like to read alot and today I coulnt even read my daily newspaper, plus I am having terrible headachces! My doctor has me going to a specialist to have my eyes checked out, I hope it will get better soon!

Hi,
I am really glad that your doctor put you on medication. The nerves in the back of the eyes are really sensitive to your blood sugar level. Elevated blood sugar causes the nerves to swell up. As you blood sugar comes down towwrds normal you will see fluxuations in your vision. Hang on, it will get better. You really don't need to have your eyes checked until your blood sugar stabilizes, but since you have already been referred you need to have the back of your eyes checked (retinas) and you need to have pressure tests done to make sure you don't have glaucoma.
Please join our conversation and I hope that the next time your A1C test is done it will should that your diabetes is under better control. It really is at a level where you can do serious damage to your eyes, kidneys and feet.
A gentle hug,
