Update on me

Hi everyone,

I was first here about a month ago after being diagnosed with type 2. I finally saw the specialist on Friday and he was very nice. I had repeat blood tests last week and my FBG had gone from 8 to 6.9 and my HBA1c from 7.1 to 6.7. So I think that is a good sign and that I am doing the right things. He said I wouldn't need medication just diet and exercise and lose weight of course. I am seeing an educator next week to learn how to use the glucose monitor. I am a bit nervous about that. Then I have a dieticians appt in December. All in all I think I am doing ok. There aare some foods I am REALLY missing, but I guess my health is more important.

Thanks again for all the advice I received last time.

Lisa.

Hi Lisa,

Thanks for the update. Yes, there are some food that you won't be able to eat anymore, but they are few and far between. Ask the dietitian when you meet with her to see if there is a way that you can have them once in a while. There may be a way to modify the recipe also so that it becomes a permitted food.

It looks like you are doing great. Please continue to come by and see us.

Cheers,

Mary Frances
