Is it the same? How many of you diabetics get boils or have had celluites??? I have had quite a few boils, mostly before I found out I had diabetes, but still get boils! How do you get rid of them?? They are very painful!!!!!!!!!!

Having your blood sugar out of control encourages the development of boils and cellulitis. But diabetes in itself doesn't cause either boils or cellulitis. There are certain kinds of infections like yeast infections which are seen much more frequently in diabetics. So you need to see your physician if you have boils udner your arm pits for example. And you need to get your blood sugar as close to normal as possible. Sores and wounds don't heal as well in the diabetic as they do in the non-diabetic. This is why you have to be expecially careful with your feet.

So please tell me what is happening with you and I will try to give you some advise.

Take care and I hope you are feeling better real soon,

Mary Frances
