I always wear white socks and not nylons. I usually try to get ones that have terry cushioning since they feel better, and pay attention to avoid those with tighter cuffs on the top.
I am running into some major problems with the Y so may end up stuck with my only exercise being walking, either on treadmill, or outside. Shoulder is better but still not really good, so I am afraid to swim and the arm cycle is defintely a nono, and using weights would be suicidal I think!! I do arm exercises with stretchy bands, as advised by the PT, but they only take 5-10 minutes, and as far as getting exercise that seems like diddly!!
No seams at all? If so, I need to get some. No matter what socks I wear, the point where the "seamless" toes are stitched at the side of the sock- causes me problems. I often have to adjust my socks and take off my shoes 2 or 3 times before I get that seam to a place where it doesn't bother me. I don't have circulation probs that I know of, butsome nerve damage and numbness from my surgery- it's that foot that always has a prob with socks.
Unfortunately, my beloved Birkenstocks are sitting in my closet these past few weeks where they will ikely remain until next summer. I developed achilles tendonitis and tendonitis in my ankle that was operated on. I'm in physical therapy right now and not having much fun. The electro-stimulation just about killed me today. Afterward, I've been having a hard time walking at all. I wonder if the machine was up too high and I dind't know it because of the nerve damage???

Amy,
Let's let the poll run a little longer and then I will tell you about them.
What is the advantage of diabetic socks?

During the Summer, socks and I don't see one another unless I happen to need to wear athletic shoes.

I think the results of this poll are interesting.

If you cannot find socks for diabetics, they can be ordered online from Dr. Leonards.
