Rita here. I been reading every day but I don't have anything to contribute to the topic, so I read and learn.

We are not planning any vacation as I am dealing with vertigo and any movement and noise bothers me. We are just staying home and enjoying the warm weather and going to all the doctor appointments.

We also just adopted a new kitten. A couple of strays that we feed had a litter of 5 kittens. One was killed and the 1st one we caught was adopted by the neighbor behind us. We caught the last 3 and kept one and took the other 2 to the Humane Society. Momma kitty disappeared about 3 weeks ago and Daddy keeps coming around.

Where would you go if you figure out how to schedule it?? If I could go somewhere I would go to Ireland and would also like to take a cruise as I have never been on one.

What happened to Cheryl's internet access??

Rita

So Cheryl, were you jones it without being able to email??!!! Not sure if I would or not!!! Sounds like you have a busy summer.

I have been dealing with this vertigo for 2 years now. It started after having the flu. Have seen an eye doctor for prism glasses, been to ear, nose, and throat doctor. Down to Pittsburgh to see a neurologist there. Currently see a neurologist here and a chiroprator. The chiropractor thinks I still have an inner ear infection so I had blood work done and my sed rate is high. I go back to the ear, nose and throat doctor this afternoon. I feel dizzy all the time and then I get spells where everything spins.

It is really frustating...I keep thinking I would like to go the music concerts they have around town but I can't, want to take the grandchildren to Sesame Street or the zoo and I can't. So I just take one day at a time.

The kitten is about 8-10 weeks old plus we have 4 others. A 20 yr old, a 19 year old, a 10 yr old and a 5 yr old. We have this big S branded on our foreheads for SUCKER!!!!

The trip to Ireland has been a dream for years...not sure if it will ever happen but I hope!!!

Anyone else have trips planned??

I've been here, maybe I spoke up when I should have kept my mouth (keyboard?) shut, but I hoped to call attention to a related board.

I would say that we have been working our tails off, but DH's is the only one that looks smaller.......mine is as big as ever.

Hi Rita,

Welcome to the board. I am glad you came to visit us!

I went to Ireland and I absolutely loved Southern Ireland. It is such a pretty country even the rocky side. The people that I met were so nice. I stayed in bed and breakfasts and small inns and so I got to interact with the people. I couldn't go into the pubs though because of all the cigarette smoke. Recently they have stopped smoking in the pubs so I probably could go now. My father was Irish and so typically so. He even continued to eat like Irishmen even though he was second generation! And we won't discuss the alcohol. I loved all the crafts that I saw and could have spent a fortune buying things.

I am one of those people who needs to take time off about every six months. I just get so involved I get too tired. I don't know where I want to go, I just want to go somewhere! I do have a week of vacation planned for the last week in October but that is a long time away!

So pull up a chair and join our conversation. We like visitors around here.

Abby is now a year old and rebellious teenager I think! She is still quite cute and into everything. I have had a pet sitter for years who used to take care of Cleo here in my home. She used to come an visit her twice a day for an hour when I would be gone. But Abby was too small when I got her to leave her at home and so she has been going to the pet sitter's house. The pet sitter has two house cats of her own. Abby spends her time in the guest bedroom sticking her paws out under the door and sitter's two boys stick their paws under the door in return! I think she is afraid to put all of them together. Her husband loves to play with Abs and so everyone has a good visit.

Have a good time while you are gone and I hope that you don't have too many withdrawal symptoms. I know I do when I can't get on the compouter for any reason. LOL!!

I am crossing my fingers that your's and my lab results are good. I go to see my new doctor next week also. Plus that on Monday I get crown done on my tooth and I hope my blood sugars aren't too out of wack. That reminds me that I want to get some glucerna liquid to take with me when I go to the dentist in case my blood sugar drops too low. They wanted me to come in at 11:30 and I wouldn't get through until 1pm and I refused because I knew I would be in trouble. I hate it when the medical profession wants to schedule diabetic appointments at sometime other than really early in the morning. It is so hard on us.

Anyway I hope you post your lab results and what your doctor tells you.

2sweet02,

Don't worry about a thing. You did just fine. It is an unusual disease that he has. And as I told you, it was appropriate to refer the mom to a board full of moms that could give support.

I am glad that your dog is doing okay. I am a little surprised that he reacts to his shots as, at least in my system, most to the time the shots aren't painful. At least you don't have to check his blood sugar several times per day. I laughed that he has become the typical diabetic and figured out how to get treats or more food per day! I think MinPins are so cute. I like Mini Schnauzers also. They have such personality.

Hugs,
