Has anyone with type 1 diabetes (not always the best control) had a good pregnancy expierence? I was not trying to get pregnant with an HBA1C of 9.0 and I am now 6 weeks along and scared to death that bad things are going to happen? Any help or expierences would be great!!!

I do have an appt with my High Risk Dr. next Friday and I have seen my regular OB and also my Endo. I have been testing 8 times every day since I have found out and I am on top of the control. I just want everything to be ok. Thank you so much for your prayer and your reply. God Bless and have a great day!!

First, congratulations on your pregnancy. Your post sounds identical to mines a few months ago. I know your concerns and you will definitely find beneficial information on the this board and the pregnant and diabetic board also. Like Cheryl said, you are doing the right thing by getting control of your numbers NOW. You are still early and your baby is still in the important developing stage. There are some previous post here where some women had double digit A1C and still had healthy babies. So definitely don't be discourage.

You are in my prayers. You can email me directly if you like.

Take care
Mattie
