Enjoy the dog days of summer! Just take care of yourselves as you party this last weekend of summer. I can't believe how hot is has been our here in the west. I am sure it isn't must different back east so please make sure you drink enough and don't spend too much time out in the heat.

Ava,

Thanks for reporting in! I am sorry you are having such problems with your back and knee and hips. You can only do the best you can with what you have been given. I know that your sister worries about you but isn't that what sisters are for!!

Please take care of yourself and do check in when you can. You are missed when you don't come around once in awhile.

Is there a place you can do some swimming? Most of the time the only really cranky body part i have is knees but this past year the one shoulder plus hands have been cranky.(ironic cuz now my body is tempted to try swimming its likely the sore shoulder would limit that.) But if you have a Y nearby they often have some exercise classes for seniors in the pool, and that might help. although to be honest, the Y's do NOT tend to have the warmest water!! Some pools at some of the fitness places are a lot warmer and sloshing around in them is a little close to splashing in a hot tub without the risk of raising your blood pressure cuz the water is not quite THAT hot. But that warm water sure can feel good on sore body parts!!

I have found that once I get to doing the exercise somehow doing it does seem to reduce the pains. It does amaze me right now that the shoulder exercises the PT gave me often will stop the sometimes really nasty pains I have in the shoulder!! I guess they get it back into better alignment so then the tendonitis backs off some.

Your fun with your PC reminds me too much of when I had my first car!! A 65 dodge that most of the time was a trusty steed. At one point there was a problem with the starter so I was taught how to go under the hood, and use a screwdriver(with plastic handle for safety) to connect two parts and the dang thing would start up just great!!

With the vacation time I had off, I have had major problems with getting on line from home puter....have to contact the people with the internet security suite i use cuz something got really messed up. so have been having to go on line through back up server, then switch to another browser and piggyback it on that provider to finally get on line!! then once i get on its not very stable, so i have been reading more than posting. also just found out last night from my sister that our doxie club newsletter person just mailbombed me with the last newsletter! lets just say, almost impossible to open the file, and it ran over 8 MB of memory. my dial up connection could not handle that, and thankfully sister went on her high speed connection and dumped it for me. needless to say, she also told me that I was over the max space on emails(that one email used up over 1/3 of the allowed space!!). the joy of computers!! But that said, it is really great to be able to come on line to places like this group!! I would have been really lost when I was first diagnosed if this group had not been here!!
