What was your highest blood sugar reading that you are aware of? What did you do with this reading? Did you call the doctor or go to the ER? How did you treat it?
Hi and welcome to the board. You could have heard me gasp when I read your message. You must have felt awful for a long time before you were diagnosed. I am so glad you survived this and it looks like you are doing well with your diabetes.
I am so sorry to read about your brother. Thank you for sharing this painful story. I hope your sharing this will encourage folks to take better care of themselves.
Highest I was able to record is 395. Don't know how high it goes when I pass out but that hasn't happened in a long time. I keep it around 122 to 140 with diet and Metformin. Can't get it lower. When it stays up over 250 hours after I eat, I take some chromium picolanate and that brings it down. Same with walking all over super walmart at night. I am insulin resistant to say the least but other oral meds are not an option. I am allergic to sulfa drug. Insulin is not something I am willing to do at this point in my life. I don't have time to devote to the regimen required to keep HG from happening. I HATE low blood sugar.
