New Glucose Meter question

I went out and bought a new glucose meter because my last one was a "Kroger" grocery store brand, and we don't have that store here in South Florida were we just moved to. So, I bought a Publix grocery store brand instead. The testing strips were $48.99 for 100, and I got the meter for free. A bargain! :-D However, I'm having all sorts of fluctuating levels. This morning, I ate one 6oz cup of Yoplait Fat-Free strawberry Yogurt, and then I drank a Sprite Zero soon after (diet sprite). That was at 7:30am. By 10am, I started to sweat and feel jittery. I was just sitting and not exerting myself at all, so there was no reason to break into a sweat like that. I'm 35, so I'm thinking it's a bit early for hot-flashes too. :-D I got the new meter out, and I tested....128. Then, I put a new test strip in, and tested a second time (right after the first) and got a 98. Now, I'm not sure what is going on with my levels. I looked over the directions again for the meter, and I'm pretty sure I'm using it correctly. Is it just that it's a cheap meter maybe?

I'm eager to get the results today from yesterday's fasting blood test. I'll post the results when I get them. At this point, I've prepared myself to hear that I have diabetes, and I'm doing all the research I can to find out what to eat, etc. Even if it turns out that I'm not diabetic, eating healthier sure can't hurt. :-D

Is it normal to get MORE regular during that time? lol I am about to turn 47 and it's only in about the last 3 years, since finding an endo who did the blood tests and tweaked the Synthroid dosage, that I've actually had anything resembling a regular cycle (28-30 days like clockwork) without taking bc pills. It's like I've started back over at puberty (when I didn't have anything close to regular, never have, and NO ONE even thought to check my thyroid, they just put me on bc pills or would have if I would have taken them but I said no thanks!)
