3 hr Gluc Tol Test Results?

Ok. In February - my result aft 3 hours was over 160 ---- I'd been very sedentary & tired prior to this.

I tried to exercise a bit more after that, tho I've not been able to lose a single pound - I'm slightly overweight, but not by much.

In JULY - my result aft 3 hours was 132.

What do you think? Might my scores continue to improve if I DO lose some weight & try to get even more active than I've been since the 160+ in Feb???

But I don't understand - If I already HAVE diabetes - I shouldn't get any better, right????? b/c the "cells" do not renew.

My doc tells me it's Pre --- which conceivably can get better - b/c it's not yet killing "cells" permanently? Doesn't Pre mean the panc. is just starting to delay & have trouble?

Not necessarily. I think Mary Frances found a statistic from some study that said up to 40% of those diagnosed with prediabetes CAN actually avoid getting it.

BUT- do you think 132 is still prediab?????

I HATE exercising!!!!! but perhaps my walking I've done since Feb brought it from 160 + after 3 hour to 132 after 3 hour???

is this for the rest of my life >>>>>>> :( it does not run in my family!!!!!

if the 132 was within a few ours of eating, that could still be prediabetes.

The 132 was 2 hours after the orange glucose drink -
Prior to that I was 91 - upon waking up!

Thank you -
My doc says I'm just "Pre" - don't worry. But I worry.

Esp b/c I've had others with various sources say I am way already there.

BUT - according to the ADA - 132 is still ok, but high. So that's encouraging. I just don't feel ok about it. I am trying to be more active, however, & have recently begun with a personal trainer. I HATE exercising -but I really think my weight - 153 at 5'6" is a big factor. I just don't seem to be able to lose any!!! :(
