You say, Oh poor you! Stuck in paradise! But there are real problems with being stuck anywhere without your meds or enough meds to get you through till you arrive home. I have enough insulin (although I was supposed to disgard the vial yesterday) and Symlin but I have don't have enough of my oral meds. It could be worse if I didn't have the insulin with me. I did also bring some extra syringes with me and so I am oaky that way. My husband asked me why I brought extra of my night time meds with me and I told him it was incase I didn't get home as early as I expected, no way did I think this would be a delay of 24 hours. My husband, who is also diabetic and has recently been in the hospital because of his diabetes, doesn't have any meds with him. We are both eating very carefully and will make the best of this situation.

Anyway, more on this later. Just say this has been an interesting experiene balancing all of this after the plane broke down on the runway and couldn't be fixed. Better to break down on the ground than over the ocean, is all I can say.

See you soon,

Oh dear, that is a problem. That's why I always pack at least 2 days more of any medications than we need. Is there any way to contact a local branch of your usual pharmacy (like CVS or Walgreens) and have them get you a 'bridge' supply for today?
