Hi Everyone,
My doctor is still saying I'm pre-diabetic but he has me on metformin twice a day. I've been working for several years to loose weight. I horseback ride and take aqua aerobics for people with arthritis. I've gone from a size 26-28 to a 16-18. I walk my dog when my knees feel up to it. I never eat large portions but my bad eating habits have been the problem. I get up and I'm not hungry. I could go all day just drinking my coffee (no sugar) and not eat until 6 pm. So my body was always thinking it was starving. I still have days when I have to force myself to eat something.
I find it hardest to stick to good eating habits when I travel. I had a similar reaction as 'Scared' only in my case it was low blood sugar. Scared me too. It seems to me to be a balancing act to keep my sugar level.
I test more often than I did when this started. Usually I am pretty good and hopefully it'll stay that way.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

I will definitely second that exercise is good for arthritis!!
Thank you so much for the suggestion. I use a city club and will check out what they have.

I know I have to really pay attention to the cranky joints, but does it does amaze me how much it helps the arthritis pain, along with everything else!! I think a lot of that is the exercise DOES strengthen the muscles so it keeps the joints in better alignment!!
I will say the first couple times on the elliptical took some getting used to. I have rotten balance so literally had to concentrate on using it rather than watching the TV or reading. But that went away pretty quickly.
The Y does not keep the pool warm cuz they have so many kids using it!! Since my blood pressure is a little high at times even with the meds I need to avoid the whirlpool too, but that I would sure love to use!!
