How did everyone do over Thanksgiving?

We survived Thanksgiving...  but how did you do?  Was your meal good?  Did you watch what you ate?  Did you check your glucose to see exactly how you did?

It can be 'hard' and we know it...  Check in and share how things went for you!!

Rita,

You didn't do badly! It may have been and probably was too high two hours after eating but you were in the upper limits for going to bed. So live and learn. The other important thing was that you had a good time.

Paul,

Congratualtions! It sounded like you had a wonderful day. Congratulations on being seizure free so that you could get your license back. I am sure it felt strange to be driving again and liberating also.

Keep those prayers coming. We all need them.

Wow! That was a lot of carb rich foods that you had. You must have eaten only a little bit of each one. Did you go for a walk after eating because your blood sugar was wonderful. I am glad you had a good day.

2Sweet02,

Sounds like you did just fine. Your blood sugar was probably a little too high after eating but it is just fine for going to bed. It is important to have a good life as well as keeping your blood sugar under control. Sounds like you have a good balance.

It's hard to know what is in foods when others prepare them. So it makes it doubly hard to make good choices on a communal meal at the holidays. But it sounds like you did just fine.

I just had a tiny bit of each of my favorite Thanksgiving foods. My doctor had just told me in the last week to enjoy everything during the holidays...but just in small portions. :-)

Hi Cheryl,

We went to our friends home...she cooked the turkey, veggies, mashed potates, gravy and apple dumplings(she doesn't like pumpkin pie).

Cheryl,

Looks like you did real well with your feast. In this months issue of Diabetic Living they have a recipe for cranberry relish which uses tangerines instead of oranges. It is really good. I made that for part of my dinner. I was so tired after cooking dinner for 13 people but everyone seemed to have a good time and they took leftovers home with them! My sister helped out a lot and she made a celery root salad that even the 4 year old grandson liked and asked for more. I'll see if I can get the recipe and if so post it for our recipe file.

I glad you had a wonderful day.
