Hello Everyone. I just wanted to share that my DH had his best after dinner reading last night since this all started. It was 129!! It's usually upwards of 200 at that reading. He lifted weights about 30 minutes about 1 hour after supper and then we did the check about 1 hour after that. He's still only taking 250mg at dinner, won't add any more because it's making his stomach hurt and queasy. The Dr hasn't called back. He wants me to call again today and make sure she knows how queasy and upset his stomach is even at this small dose. So hopefully we will hear from her today.

That's great. It's definitely possible that if he can keep at it and get his numbers to stay in range with the added exercise and eating better (and losing weight as needed) he might not have to go to a higher dosage. I'm at a really teeny dose of metformin (100 mg once per day) because my numbers are staying good so far (my A1C is consistently below 6.0 since January). I have no doubt that my dr would have increased the dosage if the numbers weren't staying put (she's constantly on me to get onto a statin but my primary is willing to wait a short time and see where my cholesterol levels out since it's been coming down, in order to decide on what dosage. I'd rather none, but it's likely it'll be some - so I'm working on making sure it's as little as possible).
