1/4 unit marked insulin syringes
| Tue, 12-18-2007 - 4:35pm |
Are there any insulin syringes with 1/4 unit markings? I'm currently using 1/2 unit marked insulin syringes for my diabetic cat but sometimes he needs a 1/4 unit of insulin and it's hard to eyeball that. The pet diabetic commuity isn't aware of any 1/4 unit marked insulin syringes so I thought I'd ask the Human diabetic community :)

Hi,
I am only aware of 1/3 cc syringes (.3cc syringes). But we have the wife of a retired vet who just lost her diabetic dog on the board. 2Sweet02 will have better information than I have and I am sure that she will respond to your question.
Please let us know what you find out as you never know when you are going to need that information.
Thanks :) I'm using 3/10 cc insulin syringes with half unit markings. These make it easy to measure something like 2.5 units. But, sometimes I need, say, 2.25 units. I'm currently eyeballing where the .25 units might be but I'm pretty sure it's not always 100% accurate. Insulin syringes with quarter and half unit markings would be extrememly useful for people with diabetic pets. I'm sure Human diabetics may also find these useful, too.
