Hi, I am new to the site and fairly new to Diabetes II.  I was diagnosed in July and also diagnosed with PCOS.  I was on Metformin for 5 months and got real sick so they took me off of it.  I was also on Yaz but that didn't help with the PCOS either so now I am off of everything.  I am looking for a support group as I know no one with the same conditions as me and am very frustrated with my weight, diet and lack of energy.  Also, I cant seem to get the help I need to find the right foods to eat.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the board. You have come to the right place to get support from a caring group of people.

Please tell me what YAZ is. Do you have any current lab results? When do you see your doctor again? What has your doctor recommended for you?

When I am a registered nurse any advise I may give is not a substitute for seeking medical advise from a health care practitioner of your choice.

But that doesn't mean that I can't think of things for you to ask your doctor! So please pull up a chair and join our conversation. We are here to help you in anyway we can. We celebrate successes, lament failures (and we all have them) and give gentle shoves when necessary! Just remember there are no saints on this board. LOL

Yaz is a birth control pill but was used for me for the PCOS.

One big consideration, especially in your case, is that hormones can totally play havoc with your glucose control. So, your endo and your gyn should probably be working together (if they aren't already) to figure out how to balance your PCOS/hormonal issues with keeping your blood sugar levels stable.
