Exercise with DPN

HI Everyone,
I have Type 2, as many of you know. I have, also, Diabetic Perephiral Neuropathy. Not because of negligence of my blood sugar levels, my last two H/a1c's were 5.9 and 6.2, it's just because I have had diabetes for 25 years or more.. They have never been higher than 6.4. I take Lyrica, 150 mg's daily. That has helped a great deal. I find that if a attempt to walk more that a mile my legs feel as if I can't take another step - they feel heavy and tired. What kind of exercise would be good? I find if I walk and then rest for five minutes I'm OK to go another mile. I'm 75. Maybe I should just be happy with that. I was really active until this darn DPN hit about a year ago. It's depressing. Please stay safe and pray for peace.
Best wishes,
Paul

Paul, does your Y have water excercises or water walking?
If you belong to the Y they often have special groups for those with arthritis(usually water exercises).
Hi Auntydoxzz,
Yes, we have nice pool at the "Y."

I must admit that I am now trying to get back into really consistently exercising and it seems a real struggle this time.
