I saw the endocrinologist on Monday and got the results of my recent blood work. My a1c was 5.8!! Last time it was 6.2 so I am extremely happy with that. My cholesterol was really the only bad thing. My HDL was low at 39 and my LDL was high at 137.
In other news...I have added additional exercise to my daily bike riding. I finally bought a Nintendo Wii over the weekend and must say playing the sports games is very realistic and quite a workout. I have found myself playing the tennis, baseball and boxing for over 2 hours every day. I break a sweat every time I play. Well woth the investment. My friends are hooked too.

Have you seen the diet cranberry juice that is sweetened with Splenda? I have a sample but I haven't tried it yet. Some people like to use cranberry juice to treat or prevent bladder infections. Just forcing fluids would do just as well as it flushes out any bugs that are sitting there. But that is another discussion for another day!

Somewhere dear hubby found dried cherries. I think 1/4 cup was equal to 15 grams of carbs. I never ate that many but they were really good too. About 6 of them had enough tang to let me know that I was eating some fruit and enough sweetness to take care of any craving. See if you can find them in your local market. Crasins and the cherries are both better than raisins in my humble opinion.
Actually some places you can find the berries freeze dried which I think means they don't add sugar when drying. At least for strawberries, raspberries, cherries and blueberries.
