for the pass week now I been getting bad gum and tooth pain. I did have a root canal done after i had it done they did a xray I called my dentist and they side they nothing there She doesn't know why I have this pain does diabetes case gum pain?
Not specifically gum pain BUT there is some risk of inflammation in general and dental issues are definitely possible. Also, since it can take longer to heal, it's possible something else is going on that wasn't visible on xray (yet) - could be that it is just taking longer than "usual" for this to heal so you're having more pain longer or could be something else getting started.
Is your face swollen on the side where you had the root canal? It is possible that they cracked the root and that you could develop an abcess. I would ask to be examined inperson and not over the phone as you really shouldn't be having continuing pain.
Did she tell you what went wrong with your tooth? This happened to my husband and they tried and tried to fix his tooth. Eventually he had two abcesses and he had to have the tooth removed. It took forever for his gums to get well but he eventually had an implant done. Outside of being horribly expensive he loves his implant.
I hope all goes well with you and that the pain is manageable until you have the oral surgery done.
Did they give you an antibiotic? Is she aware that you are diabetic? Sometimes if there is a raging infection especially the kind that gets worse when there is no oxygen to the area, i cant remember what they call it, i want to say anerobic.

One thing though the swelling might not be right in the tooth area.
