Our budgets have always been tight, and these days it’s been very hard to take on new costs. But a lot of medical expenses can’t be avoided, and when it comes to family, we still need to find a way to afford insurance and regular doctor’s visits. There are some programs that can help, but how are you facing the problem of affording healthcare? Is your insurance covering enough, or do you have any tips to share to help us save money?

"BUT THEN you have to dispose of the unworkable meds and that is getting to be quite a messy issue!!!"

That is so true. No more flushing down the toilet and throwing into the garbage so that the landfills are contaminated is off limits too. What's a person to do!! Plus that if some organization decides to hold an event where outdated and unused medication is returned, they must have a pharmacist and police on duty! Seems someone got cute and stole unwanted narcotics.

My situation is a little unusual, but when I can't take new medications (which seems to be often), I take the Rx bottles back to my Dr.

I've found that Vitamin C helps when taken at the first sign of a cold as well.
