Well, I have nothing scientifically documented (as in, oatmeal with cinnamon vs. oatmeal without cinnamon, testing two hours after each), but I do sprinkle a bit of cinnamon on many things. The way I figure it, if it helps great; if not, it still tastes good so either way I win. And, it's good for masking the taste of the Splenda in my coffee. Apple slices with peanut butter and a sprinkle of cinnamon makes a tasty afternoon snack.
As with anything, each individual's results will vary - even if it is great for me, it might not help you much at all, and vice versa.
I've heard of couple of people who swear by it, but I've never tried it myself. I've always heard it helps more with type 2 than type 1. I've been thinking about just taking cinnamon supplements. And if they don't work, hey, at least I'll have cinnamon flavored burps all day!
I do not have diabetes (blood sugar problems) but I am insulin resistant. I am trying to reverse this with weight loss and Chromium Picolinate supplements. I tried taking GNC Cinnamon supplements earlier this year, but had some odd GI side effects with it. It seemed to "slow" my GI track down to a crawl!! (hope that's not too much info!) Give it a try and please let us know how it works for you. Good luck!
According to the diabetes researchers at UCLA the dosage of cinnamon is no more than one teaspoon. Did you use that much? Also they said that Saigon Cinnamon was the best. Do you know what kind you tried?

I have tried the cinnamon and it has helped, I have also heard of other people that have tried cinnamon also and their numbers showed good signs.
Hi,
I have type 2 and found that by using cinnamon in my daily smoothies it's helped with my blood sugar.
Give it a go it can't hurt you.
