I got mine today. I wouldn't go without it. It is really important for diabetics to get a flu shot if at all possible. There is supposed to be enough vaccine this year and it is supposed to be formulated for the right virus this year (unlike last year).

I have my all-over everything annual physical every year in October - easy to remember because my birthday is in October. My Primary does everything from general health to diabetes and thyroid to ob/gyn, with appropriate lab work and all. Included in there is the flu shot - I had pneumonia 2 yrs ago right before I was dxd and I do NOT want to go through that again. Nice and tidy having a one-stop family doctor, no running here to there. The only thing that is done separately is the mammogram. Even more convenient, the lab that does the blood work shares office space with his office AND the location is almost exactly 1 mile from my house. How's that for convenient?

Got it this morning. Checked out okay at the physical - bp was about 117/72 if I remember correctly (dang, I meant to write that down so I'd be able to add it to my log book where I keep track of it - I might just call the dr's office and double check it); A1C was 6.4 (not awful but I want it lower, it's been creeping up over the last 6 months); HDL was 74, LDL was 113 (no cholesterol meds - last time my LDL was < 100); triglycerides were good; microalbumin was good; serum glucose was 113 - not awful, considering most mornings I get a reading of around 120 - 130 (dawn syndrome here); thyroid was good. Dr. was okay with me working to get back on track and get the A1C and LDL back to where they were 3 months ago by the next quarterly follow up before we discuss medication changes.

The nose spray is also only cleared for people under 50 who are healthy.
