Nora, I can't help you I'm not on insulin... my suggestions....
Call your dr.
Nora is it?
What did your doctor say?
hi donna
she told me to low my my long lasting insulin I was take 14 units at night she told me to take 12 ill see what happens ..
Nora,
I hope your blood sugar is back up where it should be now. Do you remember the rule of 15? When your blood sugar is too low you need to eat 15 grams of carbs, (can be anything but candy doesn't work well because it raises your blood sugar too high and then causes it to drop too quickly) and then wait 15 minutes and test again. If your blood sugar still isn't high enough you repeat the process.
I have a longer item on this in the hanging on folder. I will get it and then edit this message so that you can read it.
Also you need to call your physician. You may need to adjust the amount of insulin that you are taking.
Hang in there. THe needed information is coming.
hey maryfrances
I talk to my Dr and she told me to low
Nora,
The short acting insulin is usually based on eating 17 grams of carbs. If you are already low because of the long acting insulin and don't eat enough you will really go too low. Refresh my memory. What kind of long acting insulin are you on?
