The Daily Plate

Since my dr wants me to track my diet, I was searching nutrition data online and found an awesome site. On Livestrong.com, (remember all the yellow bracelets?) there is a section called "The Daily Plate."  It is very easy, just type in what you ate and the site searches the nutritional information.  Click on the once that looks right and you get more info on the item.  The click "I ate this" and add it to your "plate."

It tracks the nutritional info by meal, by day, and by week.

So far it has been really helpful for me to see just HOW MANY carbs I'm eating. Even though it didn't seem like many at that meal, the day's worth adds up.  Since I've never been one to read labels, this is shocking to me.

Just thought I'd share...

If you haven't been given a diet, or food plan the general rule of thumb for women is 30 grams of carbs for breakfast, 45 grams of carbs for lunch and 45 grams of carbs for supper.
