Now my numbers seem to be going too low. How can they be higher one week and low the next? I woke up last week to 127 or 119 in the morning. Yesterday and today I wake up to 80 and I feel shaky most of the day. I only feel alright after a meal. I have 45 carbs or maybe a bit more, but I haven't been snacking inbetween meals like I usually do as I don't feel hungry and I am busier than I have been in the past.  I ate three hours ago and just got back from a walk and I am down to 80 again. I feel hungry at times and other times I could care less. Yesterday I ate my three meals, and later at night I had a slice of pizza and some ice cream for a snack! And my numbers still weren't high. I wonder if my meter is working right, but it must be because I feel shaky and hypo. I don't understand. I worry sometimes about cancer of the pancreas, is there a link? I don't like going so low. I wonder if there is a problem.

My husband just got a job and won't be on insurance until the beginning of December. I hope I can wait that long. Until then, I just have to watch my numbers. Maybe I shouldn't do it, but I just had some regular soda and it brought me up to 96. My body sure does weird things. I think also that I lost 5 pounds. I don't know if that would do it. Last week I was worried I might have to go on Metformin, now I am not. It is crazy!

I have more stress too regarding my daughter and marriage so I would figure that my numbers would go up. I sure can't wait to see my doctor and get my A1C.

Remember if what you eat has a lot of fat in it, that slows the absorption of the carbs.

Debbie,

I didn't understand your 45 grams of carbs comment. Is that all the carbs that you are eating per day or per meal?

When you are low it is okay to have some regular soft drink. Remember I told you about the rule of 15. Have 15 grams of carbs and check again in 15 minutes. If your blood sugar isn't high enough, repeat the 15 grams and test again in 15 minutes. If it close to your meal time, eat your regularly scheduled meal.

Thanks ladies. I just ate not too long ago and I went to 145, but it was less than 2 hours ago. I do have a problem with my tooth. They believe my tooth is cracked underneath the filling and even though it stopped hurting, it is still there. Maybe that is causing me problems. I am trying to hold out for the insurance. I hope I can wait :( We'll see how I do in the coming days. Thanks for your help.
