Excessive urination at night

Hi, can somebody help me with this. It's driving me nuts!

I constantly have to pee at night, about every 60-90 minutes. This happens even if I don't eat a bunch of carbs. I'm not on any medication for diabetes, but sometimes I take cinnamon capsules and GTF Chromium tablets.  Anyhow, I tried doing that, taking the pills, but it didn't help.  I've had diabetes at least six years years and I have never taken medication for it.  Where does all this water I'm letting out come from anyhow?

Also, is losing all the water overnight, the reason I have lower back aches in the morning? I don't drink much water during the day, and I know I'm losing three-four times the amount I drink, maybe more.

I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the board. My name is Mary Frances and I am the other cl for this board. I am a type 2 diabetic and a registered nurse. Any advise I may give is not a substitute for seeking medical advise from a health care practitioner of your choice.

I am sorry but this sounds to me

Welcome louport35

You also need to make more of a habit of drinking water during the day.

Hi and thank you for the reply.

OMG! I'm afraid to answer your questions because I know all the answers are wrong, but what can I say?

I'll just start by saying I haven't been getting the best care for my medical conditions. My meter was stolen about 15 months ago, and I haven't replaced it. I was having trouble paying for the test strips anyhow, so I figure it didn't matter that it was gone. Also, I have a "good sense"

You have what is called urinary frequency and for you the exact cause of it needs to be identified.

I was afraid that was going to be your answer. Unfortunately you can't accurately judge your blood sugar level by how you feel, with the exception of when you are hypoglycemic or really low. You will get sleepy when your blood sugar is too high and too low. Your vision can be blurry when it is too high or too low. You need a meter so that you can really tell what is going on.

Not having a meter and not testing is like driving a car without a speedometer and when you get stopped for speeding you have no defense.

So please get a physician and get some muchly needed care. I am going to post for you another resource tomorrow which helps with finances for those who don't have health insurance. I know this is difficult and having diabetes isn't cheap but the complications are even more expensive.

Please let us know how you are doing. We care and will worry about you until we read that you are doing better.

Not sure where you are located BUT if you have a Walmart near you, you might go there and get one of the meters that is called a sidekick.

Hi,

I'm sorry you are having this problem, I have the same problem and I am a insulin dependent type 2 diabetic. Please try the following do not drink anything with caffeine during the afternoon, do not eat chocolate and always make sure your sugar is in control at night before you go to bed. I noticed when I cheat during the day, it shows up at night because I have a pump sometimes I think it is ok to cheat. I also like you never drink during the day however I am dehydrated when I get home from work so I sometimes drink 6 or more glasses of water without realizing I did. Good Luck and make sure you test....
