I do NOT do steps.
Ah yes, walkers and strollers.
LOL!

Nope no warnings not to use walkers on escalators.
I mostly use the escalator when there is one because I can't be bothered to wait for the elevator. And I do love love love those elevators that skip the first 10 or 15 floors and zoom you up to where you need to go ~ relic of my childhood experiences lol!
I do tend to use the stairs when I'm at the hospital, mainly because those elevators take so long to arrive. But when one has to go up and down 6 flights of stairs three or four times a day, after a couple of times I do wait for that dang elevator lol!
With the problems I have with my legs or if I'm in the chair that day it's the elevator for me.
I too was silly enough to listen to someone about the escalator and end up sprawled on the top step in tears.
I'll take the stairs if I have more than an hour need an adrenaline rush
You sound sort of like me when I do have to use stairs. Although i will say my front porch does have 2 steps, but I go down either sideways or backwards(hanging on to the railing for dear life!!)
Luckily for me the escalator fiasco did not end dangerously.
I really need an 'other' - here at work my options are elevator all the way at the other end of the building or two flights of stairs near to where my desk is. I usually take the stairs without thinking about it.
At the mall, I use the escalators but then I'm rarely at the mall if I can help it.
If I have to get above the second floor someplace, I take the elevator
