My friend just had a gallstone. They removed it and they also removed her gallstone bladder, and she is still having bad adominal pains, the doctors said that she has more gallstones (alot of them) but i dont understand how she can have alot of gallstones when she dont even have a gallstone bladder, she told the doctor that couldnt be it so now she is seeing a bunch of specialist and nobody can find out what is wrong. Does anybody have an idea whats going on? Or did someone experience this? i really need to know some information on this i cant find any HELP!!!!!!!!

I haven't experienced this - but have read about it - they could have either left some stones behind when they reomove the GB - or if it's been a while since the surgery then she could have formed the gallstones

The link that Wren provided has some info - http://my.webmd.com/hw/health_guide_atoz/hw106860.asp

I had my gall bladder out last week, and my doctor made it a point to let me know that just because I no longer have a gall bladder doesn't mean I can't still get gall stones. Since gall stones are essentially a build-up of cholesterol, as long as you continue to eat fatty food it's possible to develop gall stones.

I hope your friend gets better soon!

Can you have cramping abdominal pain after eating if its kidney stones? I,ve had this along with excruiating upper and lower abd. pains in the past two weeks.I,ve been treated for H-Pylori ulcer for 3 days now with no relief from the pain. Can this pain continue at this intensity even if your on Antibiotics, Prevacid and Bismuth Tabs? How long does it last. I,m in agony most of the time and if not for my Lortabs, which I,ve taken for a bad back, I don,t know how I would have made it this long.
