Hello, I am writing because my husband went to the hospitol for throwing up blood and there was also blood in his stool. The Dr. had told me there was a 50/50 chance that he would survive and my husband beat the odds. For six days he was asleap he could hear us talking to him but would only moan but he could not move at all. On the eithth day they discharged him he had just started walking that day when they sent him home. We have no insurance, my husband is self employed he is a barber so we are trying to get medical and since we have no children and we had $2,000 in the bank it makes it hard for us to qualify for anything. His primary doctor has not told us much. He just told us that it is serious and to watch his diet. When I asked the doctor questions about his liver failure he just told me the basic I got more information off the internet. Does anyone know what kinds of food he can eat? I know it has to be low in sodium. My husband has Hep C, Cirrhosis of the liver and Diabetic type 2. His eyes dont look yellow but his stomache big. You can see the vains in his skin and he has lost a lot of weight. The doctor has told him he is disableing him. It is hard because of his health and we dont know what we will do finance wise. I earn $600.00 and he would make $4,500 a month but now we will live off my income until we hear from social security. Anyone know what we can do? We live in San Diego California. Is there anything I should look out for? He has been feeling tired and im not sure if it is depression or what. I am scared. Thanks

Thanks, for the advice since my husband had health problems he did not qualify for health insurance. My husband is 47 years old and I am not sure if he has had a colonoscopy. He had so many tests done at the hospitol like cat scans biopsy and much more. No HIV was detected or cancer. Our bills are at $65,000 at this time. Thanks again.

Thank you so so much. I have asked the doctor what stage his liver was in and he did not know because he did not have the hospitol report in yet. He just told me that it was prety bad. He threw up blood because of the blood vessels that ruptured his esophagus. They repaired his blood vessels and his amonia level was at 128. He has been loosing weight and is very depressed because he just found out he cant work.He is always hungry and feels very week. I just know he has liver failure and cirrhosis of the liver. Thanks again.

Thanks for asking. My husband seems to be doing alot better he wanted to go back to work today but since he is a barber and stands all day I told him not to. The told him that he does not want him to go back to work but it has been very hard on my husband and seems depressed. He has only been out of the hospitol three weeks. So far so good.
