Uncertain self-diagnosis. Please help!

For a few days, I had a painful lump very close to my rectum. I thought it was an infected pimple on the surface of the skin, so I squeezed it until it popped. However, it turns out that the lump was not on the surface of the skin--it was underneath.

Now, it is more painful, and I have a spot of blood forming under the surface of the skin, about the size of a penny. I am worried now--I think that what I popped must have been a small hemorrhoid. So now, my condition does not match any of the pictures or descriptions I can find online. Effectively, I have a very large (and fairly painful) blood blister very close to my rectum. I do not have any blood in my stool.

My question is, do I need to see a doctor immediately? That is, is the internal bleeding serious enough to be worried about?

I am willing to put up with the pain if this will heal itself--I just need to know if it WILL heal itself.

As additional information, I am a 19-year-old male, with no history of hemorrhoids or any other digestive problems.

Thank you for your time and your response.

Hi!! If you haven,t seen a doctor yet about this, you really should. In the meantime, go to Walmart and go to the laxative section in Health and Beauty. Look for something called Hemmorhroid Suppositories. Keep them in the fridge at home. Use these for your hemmorhroids. Also, get something called A&D ointment and put some on the outside of your rectum. Good luck and god bless you! This might be something as simple as a hemmorhroid and it could be an anal fissure. Only a doctor can tell you this.
