I had my 3rd Lap done on 8/31 for my Endo and a bunch of other stuff - GYN removed Endo he saw, moved my intestines to my right side, tightened my bladder opening, removed cyst on right overy, did a D&C, and fixed my severly retroverted and prolapsed uterus. Recovering from a Lap in the past has been relativly easy, but this one was a doozy. The Dr had to make 6 holes - instead of the normal 3 - and I was in the hospital hooked up tp a Morphine pump because I was in such pain. I had been having pretty severe upper right side abdominial pain for a while now that the Dr thought was my Gallbladder. he did an ultrasound before surgery which was normal, but the pain is still there and at times can get pretty severe. I also had severe runs for 2 weeks after the surgery - even with th epain meds I was on. Having bowel movements causes me great pain. When I get these bouts of diahria my glands also swell up and I feel crummy. He wanted me to go to a Gastro Dr, but because of my Ins, I had to go to my PCP to get the referal. Anyway, PCP thinks its my Gallbladder, and set me up to have a Hidia Scan with CCK. I am just so bummed because I don't want another surgery. My Dr. also said that this scan is pretty uncomfortable especially when they inject the hormone that makes your Gallbladder empty. Has anyone ever had this scan done? I'd love to hear your experiances with it. PLEASE respond. Thanks

Oh my you are really going through a lot. I hope you are feeling better and can snap back quickly.

I had a HIDA done last month. I thought it was fairly easy. The injection of CCK makes you a little nauseous (like morning sickness) but the beauty is that the feeling goes away pretty quickly, unlime morning sickness. I think the hardest part was laying flat on your back on the table for an hour....the table certainly is not a Serta mattress! HAHA. I had to ask for towels to put under my elbows to help with the hard table, but overall I thought it was easy, just long and hard on the back.

Dont worry it will be fine!

Hang in there!
