a raw stomach? from bacteria?

Hi. I'm new here..I need some help! For the last few months I had bloating and pain in my stomach. I found out I was pregnant and blamed all the nauseousness on that. I came home from work one night and took the biggest b.m. that was really hard and soon after I felt really really dizzy. I also started bleeding vaginally earlier that day. I went to the ER and he said I was low on potassium, my cervix was dilated (miscarriage) and I had a UTI. At the ER I was having more b.m.s. Like 6 times in a few hours. The dr. wasn't interested in that. I had a low grade fever for a week and was on so many different antibiotics. Amoxiccilin for 3 days, then levaquin and metronadazole, and also had 3 rocephrin shots. All this in a week and a half.. Finally felt a little better. Had a yeast infection throughout my whole body (thrush and vaginally). Changed my diet and it seemed to dissappear. I went to a GI and had an endoscopy done. He said my stomach lining was like "raw meat" the bile was just sitting in my stomach. he said I might be suffering from IBS. Now this week I came down with a rotten cold and my bladder seems to not want to hold anything. I had a UA 2 days ago and yesterday and the bacteria was 1-3 range. I had taken one antibiotic pill and it made me have diarrhea and made my stomach feel nasty again! My dr. is doing a urine culture to see what bacteria it actually is. I have been on Aciphex and sucralfate for 2 1/2 weeks. The do seem to make me feel better. Is it really possible to grow a stomach lining back?! How long does it take? Am I on the right meds? Does this have anything to do with my bowels? I have to eat lots of fiber and it does help. My med makes me feel constipated...

I feel like something else isn't right either! I talk to my doc and nurse and they just reassure me that it just takes time. I have soft formed stools. I am on sucralfate and aciphex and trazadone. Before these meds..my bms were alot softer... the sucralfate makes me constipated feeling...I always (even before the meds) felt constipated feeling but I will still have bms...nothing ever really hard! What could happen if you had a big bm. and it compacted in you for so long (I don't remember when I had a bm before that day) Did I blow something? Did I just strain or pull something? I had 2 different bm slides (this was like 2 or more weeks after the ER) to see if there was blood in my stool. I had to bm in the toilet and take a stick and smear different parts of my bm on the slide. there was no sign of blood but she also waited like 4 days after I turned in my slide to test it. What could I do?

First of all. The constipation you talked about is a side effect of the Sucruafate. I,m on it too. The test on your bm they are doing is called a test for occult blood, and there is suppose to be 3 different samples. You collect the 3 samples from 3 different bowel movements and its taken to the lab and should be tested immediately! You need a second opinion! Something else is definitely going on. It sounds like it may be more then one thing also. Are you still having the stomach pains? If so, then you need to find out what is causing them. You shouldn,t let this go on for months. Have you seen a gastroenterologists? This is a stomach specilists. Please see one and let us know what he says. I am worried about you! Good luck and God bless you.

Are you really constipated or constipated feeling? My bms always are soft or loose but formed. Alot of the time I feel like I have more to come out but nothing else will. After I eat I feel very sick to my stomach. My face looks washed out and gets pale. I do still have bloating and nauseousness alot. I am waiting for the results of the urine test...they are trying to find out what "bacteria" is in my urine and what could be used to treat it. Hopefully that will be a step in the right direction. My G. I. doctor now wants to set me up for a colonoscopy. I don't have a problem with that (well of course I'm scared and nervous!) but I do still think I want to go to the University of Iowa City. Something is just not right yet.

I am seeing a gastroenterologist/ hepatologist (SP?) ...I called them today and bothered them and said something is just not right! He wants to set up a colonoscopy. I have a test from my urine that should be done wed/afternoon but have an appt. thurs. morning...with a regular physician to discuss the findings of the urine culture.

I am keeping track of everything I eat. I drink at least 4 pints of water a day. thats not including the milk I drink with meals. Sometimes I feel so thirsty but othertimes not as much! I don't understand it. my tongue still feels like its burnt at the end...

I do feel so awful sometimes...especially in the morning...but by afternoon I still feel gross but not as bad. I had urine tests...not stool tests...I would like to have them but my dr. thinks I should just have a colonoscopy. I had a low grade fever..99-100 for about a week ..The first week I got sick..when I went to the ER. Then I had all those antibiotics. The fever went away. but I did lose 10 lbs..that really bothers me. I am 5'8" and now weigh 125. I look so anorexic :( I lost a couple of pounds in the month before this all happened but like I said I found out I was pregnant then and chalked it up to that... please keep helping me. AND PRAYING FOR ME!
