Surgery 3 months ago: phantom pains?

Hi everyone
I've been reading about some of you who have been getting phantom pains after GB surgery.
I've been reading about some of you who have been getting phantom pains after GB surgery.
I had my OPEN surgery on July 30, spent a week in the hospital, and then 5 weeks on medical leave. I'll spare you the details!
Anyway, I THINK I've been getting phantom pains for the past week or so, but I'm not sure. If they are phantom, that's fine. But whose to say it's not something worse, like a new gallstone?
I'm really nervous... I'm due for a check up with my surgeon in early December, and would love to see him sooner just to see if this could be something serious, but I don't want to seem like an annoying patient who listens to her body TOO much!
Any info would be great!
Thanks

HI Bebe!
You know your body better than anyone else.
Hi bebe,
It is possible to have pains, even if my GB is out, right?
Bebe,
All we were saying is if something is giving you pain-* YOU should at least call the doctor and tell him.
If you are able to get in to see the surgeon sooner then I'd do it just to put your mind at ease.
My GB was
Well, I went to my surgeon yesterday and he didn't seem overly concerned. He pushed on the area where I have some discomfort (it's not a huge pain at all) and he said it all felt fine. He told me that if it was something to be concerned about, my symptoms wouldn't be subtle. They'd be more along the lines of nausea, vomiting, jaundice, etc, basically what I had when I didn't know I had gallstones, back in April.
He said some people complain of some pain after surgery, even a year or more after. I'm only at 3 months. He said it may be the scars (?) (I had open surgery so in addition to the little scar where they thought they'd go in for a laproscopic surgery, I also have a 4 inch one and two left by holes where I had tubes sticking out of me!)
Anyway, he said since it's been 3 months, I should go to my general dr. for a liver function test, but he has no reason to believe it'll come back abnormal.
