Abdominal Pain after GB removal

My daughter (age 14) has been having abdominal pain in the upper right quadrant for about a year now. Finally in May they decided her gallbladder was only functioning at 22% and it had to be removed. The surgery was in June but the pain has not stopped and at times is much worse than before.

Last night we were in the ER for hours after she passed out from the pain during basketball practice. She has had an abdominal CT, Ultrasound, X-rays, blood tests, urine tests, etc. They can find no source of the pain. She is very tender to the touch and becomes very nauseaus at different times including with exercise, food, and in the middle of the night.

The pain seems to be worse with strenuous activity and the nauseau seems to be worse with that pain. Any thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated!

There is a condition called Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction. I don't know that much about it except that it can cause severe pain, similar to that of a gallbladder attack. You may want to do a search for this condition and see if it fits your daughter's symptoms. Good luck.
