Hi. I'm new to this board. I have irritable bowel syndrom (IBS) that I've been dealing with over the past several years. When my stress level is normal, I don't have "flair-ups", but my IBS seems to be directly related to my level of stress. Lately, IBS has been out of control - and I'm in pain from not being able to have a bowel movement for several days. I'm taking an rx for that, but it's not really helping.
Anyway - one thing I've noticed over the past several months is that my tongue keeps swelling with "acid bumps" from eating a tomato or a citrus fruit. Does this indicate some kind of ph imbalance in my body? Does anybody knows how this might relate to the digestive system, or can anyone direct me to some links that might help me?
I'd be interested in hearing what you know.
Thanks for the help!
CiCi
