Hi Everyone :-)
First of all, I want to wish all of you a wonderful thanksgiving. Brief history. Started having problems with nausea & vomitting back in January of this year after having a post-op illius after having a hysterectomy done. Had a possible short bout of pancreatisis back in January during my hospital stay for the illius. Gallbladder went bad in March & had to be removed in April. Continue to have severe pain right in the middle of my chest at the base of the ribs. Ended up with giardia a couple of weeks ago & finally got the treatment for it last Monday due to not being able to tolerate a lot of the meds for it. Anyway, still having the severe pain & now not only am I having pain in the middle of my chest at the base of the ribs, but every time I eat, within 30 minutes after eating, I am doubled over in pain & if I eat any dairy products, etc, I end up having violent vomitting spells after eating. Went to the ER on Saturday. Blood work shows everything is normal even though my lipase is starting to rise again. Given robinal & dialodid, which helped. Now, I am on robinal every 6 hours & pain meds every 4 hours. Had an ultrasound this morning, which was extremely painfull. Dr just called with the results. Everything looks normal except for the fact that there is a "shadow" with the pancreas. Dr ordered a CT scan & wants me out of work until we know what is going on, which could be weeks. I asked him what does this "shadow" mean. He said he didn't want to say until we have the answers from the ct scan. I also asked him about doing a possible ERCP to see what is going on & he said not right now, its too dangerous for that because of the inflammation of the pancreas. What does this sound like to you? Since January, I have been sick most of this year. The pain is getting worse. I just want answers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for this being so long.
HUGS,
Tara
