Gastritis, Hiatal Hernia

I was recently diagnosed with a hiatal hernia and gastritis, via upper gi endoscopy. How long does it take for the Gastritis inflamation to heal. also what pains or discomforts might I expect from having a hiatal hernia. My last question is my voice changes sometimes, I am not sure what causes that; I do not have heartburn so what might be causing the change in my voice. If anyone has any awnsers or suggestions to my health problems I would greatly appreciate it if you would respond on the message board or you can send your response to my email address:Leprachaun19M@aol.com

I believe i was diagnosed with having an acute hiatal hernia, my gastreonologist told me it was no big deal and said i would have to be on aciphex for approximately three months. On the other hand I do not feel a whole lot better. I was wondering if you knew about how long it takes before the symptoms might diminish. I not holding anyone accountable for information I would just like to get an idea. One more thing, I feel like there is something stuck in the back of my throat or the top of my mouth, i think it might be mucus or flem, or something and I feel like i have to constantly hock lugies to get the mucus out of my mouth, but very little comes if anything. I was wondering if you might have any ideas that might be able to help me out.

Thank You, shawn victorville

Hey Shawn,

It could take a few weeks for the drugs to really kick in.
