Hi. i am new to this but thought maybe it would help. I have suffered from ibs for years and recently diagnosed with Gastroparesis...but don't have diabetes. I tried reglan to help with the muscle contractions and lessen pain/constipation but hated teh medicine. I can't eat b/c im full all the time and it hurts. Small meals make me full for hours. Has anyone heard of this disease and can offer solution or advice? i am having abdominal pain and severe constipation... any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

hello all, So the doctor is a bit baffled but wants to work to make me feel better. He prescribed me a low dose of ZElnorm to see how it makes me feel. So far the past two days have been ok... no bad side effects or pain yet (fingers crossed it works). He said it should help with the constipation and the gastroparesis to get things moving first. Then, we will talk about next steps for long term and the GERD (which is getting worse since this all started). I have been trying to keep mainly a soluble fiber diet which seems to digest easiest. So now i will just wait and see how the zelnorm works.
What did your GI say at your appt?
Happy new year!
My GI says
yes that is problem for me as well. But it is hard to know what is Stres relatd and what is real medical issues. I do excersice but lately it has been painful in the stomach to run or do anything strenuous.. very frustrating. The doc said once my system is moving agian excersing should be back to normal.. i hope he is right.
The gastroparesis makes me nervous since this is chronic and all of a sudden out of know where it came. And the meds did not work for me. I just want it to go away soo i can eat normaily and get my life back on track.
Thanks for listening.
