please help my mother

my mother (72) is experiencing tenderness and pressure just under the right-side of the ribcage. She said it feels as if something about the size of a fist is there and he is having a hard time drawing a deep breath adding the area (ribcage) feels constricted as if bound by a belt. She and has the need to belch but is unable to do so, although when able, the belch is...well...hearty (?) and she has difficulty swallowing both drink and food.

She also quite frequently comes close to blacking out and several months ago she actually did pass out while driving. She did go to emergency and after being examined the ER doctor admitted her into the hospital. Over the next two days, she was given glycerin pills a couple times (and although she has no heart problems, the glycerin did help her quite a bit), she performed a treadmill test, was given chest x-rays. The doctors while in the hospital found my mother to have a pre-ulcer condition and concluded this to be the reason for her blacking out, and she was sent home.

Since her release from the hospital, her conditioning is worsening, and no other answers have been found. The various doctors she has seen alternate between indifference and half-ass treating symptoms. She is loosing faith and feels she cannot depend on healthcare providers to provide or care about her health, but has no ideas as to what may be wrong, nor do I.

Please help us, if any of this is familiar to anyone, please let us know. What conditions or diseases might she ask doctors to rule out? What are the right issues and questions to ask doctors? At this point, she is not too worried about stepping on her doctors toes, and if need be, she will stomp on them, but hey, can’t blame her, her life is at stake here.

thank you,
kiki
