Does this sound like a gallstone attack?
| Fri, 01-21-2005 - 12:25am |
For the past 3 days I have had this nauseous feeling. I also have had a mild pain on the right side, under the ribs. When I was pregnant (early 2003) they discovered I had a stone. They suggested I wait to do anything such as surgery and obviously I have. I just feel yucky - no appetite (not like me) and nauseous. Should I go in to the doctor? Do you think it is the gallstone?
Thanks.

HI Vicky - I think you should go to the doctor.
If you did have a gallstone - it could have gotten bigger or could be lodged in a duct.
If you experience *any one* of the following symptoms go to the nearest ER right away:
* vomiting
* excruciating (? Spelling) pain
* if your skin looks yellow
* fever
* dehydraytion (ie. it's hard to judge this one - but are you peeing less. Once when I was told I was dehyrated I realized that I'd only been passing urine twice a day - which is convenient but not healhty)
The week leading up to my big GB attack I felt much the you are feeling right now except I didn't have pain in the GB area so just thought it was the flu.
Please let us know how you make out,
Jo
Thank you both for responding. I am feeling a bit better today. I have tried to avoid fatty foods today. No nausea today which is good. The discomfort (pain) is when I am bending or twisting and it is on the right side,under my ribs. No stomach pain really. If this is a slight attck, I would hate to feel a full attack.
Thanks,
Vicky
