what could this be?

Hi everyone!
I have a question for you all, maybe someone could help me... I am 22 years old. I started drinking heavily when I was 14, and stopped by the time I was 17. By heavily I mean I would sometimes have a whole bottle of tequilla and still not be that drunk. I would drink heavily at least twice a week during those 3 years.

In addition, I hate divulging this, but I used to ingest A LOT of tylenol, I remember once taking 12 at a time and sleeping for the next 20 or so hours. What can I say, I had problems when I was younger, but I'm fine now.

The question is, could this have done any damage? Now, I will have a mild hangover from simply drinking one beer the evening before (complete with bedspins). I will throw up repeatedly if I have more than just a few drinks. Sometimes I wake up still slightly drunk the next day after I have about 4 drinks.

Is this normal, or could I have some form of liver (or anything else) damage from my wild days? Or could it simply be that I have a low tolerance for alcohol since I barely ever drink anymore? Most of my friends just laugh 'at me' and say I'm a 'cheap drunk', but I don't think it's normal.

Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Hi Jewels,

I'm in alcohol recovery and have taken many over the counter drugs in my past. As Wren I am not a doctor!!! I can give you my experience though. Yes you could have liver damage. Both alcohol and Tylenol are known to cause liver damage. Tylenol can be deadly quickly if it's take in large quantities. (ie more than the label says!)

You NEED a liver panel blood test!!!! I can't stress this enough. Your liver is able to repair itself mostly. You have to stop drinking and taking things that effect you liver for that to happen. If for some reason you can't afford a blood test you may just have to take these steps on your own. Drinking less will not help. I only drank for 7 years. I had liver damage by 26 years old!

I used to drink allot and be okay too by the end I had liver damage and it only took one or two to get me drunk. Do whatever you can to get to that doc.

Let us know how it turns out.

Love to You,

Jamie
