But I am wondering if these can be related.
here we go...
1. Several times a year I get these "blips" of pain in my chest - they come and go, last for a second and happen 4-5 time an hour sometimes for days. I have been to the dr. and they have ruled out my heart but are not offering me much else.
2. If I don't eat breakfast I get this awful pain/burning sensation under my breastbone, it is awful and makes me sweat (similar location to the "blips" of pain mentioned above). All I have to do to get rid of the pain is drink a little milk. The pain then goes right away. This only happens in the late morning and only on days I don't eat breakfast.
3. I had a pain in my abdomen (right side) last year. I went to the dr and they sent me in for a CT scan. They diagnosed (sp?) me with diverticulitus and put me on an antibiotic. The pain went away after about a week...
4. Since then when ever I get gas (which I have bad cases of fairly often) I get a hint of that pain in the same location (lower/mid right abdomen) but it only happens for the duration of the gas bout.
I talked to my dr about having a colonoscopy (sp?) and he said that it was un necessary at this time - I am 35.
None of the items listed above are a constant problem but I am wondering if they can be related in some way. I should also mention that I had my gall bladder removed 2 years ago. I had been having gall bladder attacks for 2 years before they figured out what was going on - thank goodness I don't have those anymore they were horrid...
Thanks for your comments and ideas

Hi, I'm new to this board so I don't know if anyone else will have better input than I do. The burning pain in your breastbone if you don't eat breakfast sounds like heartburn or acid reflux to me, especially since it eases when you drink milk (whick dilutes the acids), and it happens late in the morning (after you've been up awhile). I have the same thing happen to me, I even break out in a sweat sometimes, but usually I just feel nauseated, and I feel the burning in my throat. My mother gets breastbone burning and pain everytime she has heartburn. You have problems with gas too... do you have any food allergies?? Or get indigestion? Heartburn can either be caused by too much acid in the stomach, or not enough digestive enzymes. Maybe you could try taking some digestive enzymes...sometimes when your stomach doesn't digest food properly (from lack of enzymes) you can have problems with gas or indigestion, and heartburn. I take digestive enzymes, and they seem to help with my digestive issues. Also, you could try eating yogurt on a daily basis...the live bacteria in it is really good for the colon and can be helpful for people with digestive problems (I do that too). Sometimes gas pains and indigestion pains can be felt in the chest instead of the abdomen...it's wierd but it happens sometimes, and if you've had your heart checked out and it's fine that might be what's causing it.
If you feel you need a colonoscopy done get a 2nd opinion, I can't imagine why your doctor wouldn't do one considering you do have diverticulitis, especially if you are requesting to have it done. Have you ever had one done before? If so maybe he feels there hasn't been time for anything to change. At any rate, hope this helps...
