Treatment w/ anti-depressant/anxiety Rx?

Anyone here ever have their DR tell them their problems are due to anxiety? After my visit to the DR the other day, and getting mad at her even suggesting it's IN MY HEAD (my words, she didn't say that), I am wondering if it is. She asked me on the phone, then at the office if I had a lot of stress in my life. Which I don't have any more than usual. And I recently quit my job, so I think I have less stress (it depends, I'm home w/my kids ALL the time now, which is stressful). But she said that if what it sounds like I'm having (esophagial spasms), they are often controlled with low dose AD's. Which is funny, because I am weaning off Wellbutrin, just about to stop completely, but am wondering if maybe that is why this started, because the wellbutrin was keeping this from happening, or even the use of the meds caused this. I went on wellbutrin due to illnesses due to stress last summer.

ANYWAY, don't want to give my life history, just wondering if anyone here knows of anything like this. Thanks!

Hey Erin,

Yes, it is a well known fact that the use of anti-depressants will help the digestive tract.

Hi, I take an antidepressant - Celexa-- because I am extremely irritable without it. It actually upsets my stomach, to the point that some nights I skip it.I do believe the digestive system is one place that stress hits the hardest. I was prescribed amitriptalene fot fibromyalgia but I couldn't take it because it made me spacy. I wish you luck in finding an answer.
